Blooming At Last

This is Caesalpinia , the “Pride Of Barbados”.  I bought it from Yucca Do Nursery in Texas a few years back. When it was on the porch railing with a little afternoon sun it did not bloom. Now it is in full sun. It is in a container, as are all my plants, for I do not trust it to the Tennessee winter. After it blooms it should form seed pods. Then the question is -how many do I want in my southeast window in winter.

Tropical, salsa colored plants are now my favorites ,for hot colors suit hot climates. I gave up on muted and white gardens years ago. In Southern sun they fade and look tired.

I have a female Ruby-throated hummingbird who visits. She will appreciate this plant.
